England Dan and John Ford Coley - I'd Really Love To See You Tonight

I think what Marauder fans forget all-too-often is that the 70s were a period of intensely awesome hair... and also, glam wasn't the only music out there. Not even England, for all that it seems alluring and cultured, escaped the musical sophistication of American 70s pop.

For the record, this is absolutely the sort of facial hair that I envision both Remus and Sirius trying for - though I think that Remus was the first Marauder to fully attain the pornstache, making him the object of envy and lust! Also, that haircut? Is clearly exactly what JKR meant when she talked about Sirius's hair falling elegantly into his eyes!

My apologies for the scary insight into my vivid imagination and horrible musical tastes. My fondness for this song can be entirely blamed on Vivian Darkbloom's genius White Trash series (Xena/Gabrielle, ueber, and strongly recommended to anyone who has even the slightest interest in the pairing).

ETA: The actual quote describing Sirius's hair is "his dark hair fell into his eyes with a sort of casual elegance". Uh-huh! Exactly like the lead singer in this video!

Well, it's better looking than the Hitlerstache that David Thewlis had going in movie!PoA. I love this song. ^^

Haha. I think that Remus was pining, and it is only after being reunited with his love that his mustache was restored to its resplendent former glory. Can't wait for movie!OotP!

Well, I never imagined Remus with facial hair. Sirius may have done that whole look though which amuses me endlessly.

I think all of the marauders had bad 70s facial hair. It was very in, after all!

Eh, I guess I just figured they all had the bad haircuts.

Why limit yourself to one expression of bad 70s fashion? :D

I actually don't have a good mental image for Lily's particular type of bad fashion, and being muggle-born, she'd be the most likely to be clued into it all. Hahah.

I blame That 70s Show for my horribly view on 70s fashion.

I never made the connection between the Marauders and bad 70's fashion. You have destroyed my innocence. I am oh so glad I'm not a Sirius/Remus shipper.

*snort* Sirius's hair falling elegantly!

my dad had a pornstache when I was a kid. *shudder*

Not all fandoms can be as lucky as PotC with the hair!

My dad still has a large moustache a fair amount of the time. I think it's awesome!

i think that hair is shagilicious.i would like that hair for myself rather than the puppies but we won't go there. however,we've already established that we both like TMNT so our taste is suspect :D

That hair would be equally shagalicious but a lot less ridiculous on a girl. Also, without a pornstache, which presumably you weren't contemplating. :)

Seriously, though, women tend to have thicker hair than guys, so I think it would look a bit different -- more like a normal "fringe with angling" kind of haircut. Add some long razored layers and it would be high fashion.

We have exquisite taste! :D

So I can agree with the hair, and even appreciate its elegance somewhat...but the moustache! Unforgivable...but then, I'm not a huge fan of moustaches to begin with, unless they're of the five o'clock shadow type, or on Hugh Laurie, but that's another matter entirely :D

I appreciate that there are very few pornstache fans. Even the movie!cardigan is more popular, and that's saying a lot.

See above comment about my father often having a moustache. I think that's a big part of why they just seem normal to me. Whenever I start conjecturing about moustaches in fic Imogene just sighs and says that she's thrilled that I'm female, because if I were a guy, I'd probably be doing all kinds of totally preposterous facial hair arrangements... and it's not like guys have a lot of freedom with other aspects of their fashion. (Poor menfolk!)

Oh, thank you! :D I did have a good birthday, though I'm kind of exhausted and overworked and cranky in general. :) You are so sweet with the birthday fic offer -- and I am totally not holding you to it, at ALL... and deadlines are silly, anyway!

I hope you feel better and get over the flu soon!
